From smacking your kids, to hating the saxophone, to apologizing for slapping someone on national television, here’s the best of the best from this week in comedy.

Mae Martin sets Netflix Stand Up Special

Mae has set their first hour-long stand-up comedy special. It will be directed by Broad City grad and A League of Their Own star/co-creator/co-showrunner Abbi Jacobson.

It will be filmed Dec. 8 at the Vogue Theater in Vancouver, Canada, and debut next year globally on Netflix.

In his first late-night interview since slapping comedian Chris Rock onstage at The Academy, Will Smith said he "was going through something that night" and "lost it."
